Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have some experience in aiding Primary School children with homework and catching up on school curriculum. I've also conducted learning sessions with P2 children as part of my Psychology diploma.
Will be able to start tuition classes from first week of February. Schedule may be subject to changes or termination from August onwards as I will begin University classes.
Rapport Building
With students, I adapt a friendly manner of tone so the child may be open to more learning. I will try to incorprate their interests into their learning (such as providing reading materials and assignments that are related to their real-life interests). At ages where appropriate, reward systems can be implemented to motivate learning as well. I can provide feedback regularly (or upon request) on the child's progress with work, focus in class, and things that can be done during the week that will help to improve their language skills.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
My knowledge of the Primary School Curriculum will be based on assessment book and ten year series readings. As every school's curriculum differs slightly, I will also familiarise myself with your child's school curriculum through their texts and homework. Nearing PSLE or 'O' levels, classes will be largely based on ten year series and other schools' past exam papers.
As a Good Tutor
I believe that a good tutor should elevate a student's interest in the subject. 1-to-1 tuition should allow a teacher to cater every week's agenda and learning materials to suit the child's level and needs, regardless of the grade they are in/their age.
