Rapport Building: Regular communication between parent and teacher is very important. Understanding how the child feels is a key component when I am teaching. Only when I understand a child, then only I will be able to build a rapport with them and their families. Another key feature is understanding the child's strengths and using his/her strengths and likes to be engaged in lesson learning. I believe all children learn with their own unique abilities. It is my responsibility to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment to ensure each child has an opportunity to develop their skills.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: As a teacher I understand the need to continually research and upkeep with the trends in education. I need to continually take up courses to upgrade my knowledge and to better my teaching skills. I have been studying since 2012, I have completed 3 diplomas and currently completing my degree in March. My long term goal is to take up my Masters after my degree.

As a Good Tutor: Making a difference in a person's development is an achievement. I have a strong passion to continually upgrade myself in any field. I believe in nurturing children to become lifelong learners through meaningful life experiences. I also believe in children learning through a range of resources. In most of my teachings, I undertake the multisensory approach that appeals to children and allow them to be engaged in the lesson. As a good tutor it is also important for me to understand the needs of the children and the families. Developing a clear plan and goals for the child to achieve and work towards to will help the parent understand the small steps taken to achieve larger goals. Providing parents the support to assist the child at home through daily activities will help children learn through reinforcement.
