Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start as soon as possible, and can commit till the end of next year.
Rapport Building
Firstly, I would maintain close contact with the parents. They would be able to communicate with me their child's needs, and I would send them frequent updates on their child's progress after every lesson or as frequently as needed.

With the student, I would seek to form friendships with them and understand them on a deeper level, because I belief successful teaching is based off friendship, trust and understanding. I would actively ask them what issues they are facing and address them.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would thoroughly examine the SEAB remarks on the changes to the syllabus, study the new source material and exam papers and adjust accordingly.
As a Good Tutor
To me, one important quality is patience. I am very patient with my students, understanding their needs and seeing things from their perspective so that I can give them the time and support needed to improve. Another quality that I have is that I am adaptive. I believe that every student is different and needs a different approach to teaching. I actively look to cooperate with them and discover/refine their learning style so that they can learn more effectively. Also, rather than just teaching content, I focus on teaching skills which are transferable between subjects, and will stay with them throughout their never ending education journey. These include techniques to learn faster, exam skills like time management, how to handle certain question types and analysis etc. As a student myself, I feel these are sorely overlooked in the education system and in schools but nevertheless extremely important to scoring good grades efficiently.
