Rapport Building
I usually spend 5 to 10 mins to talk to the parents and also suggest ways to help them handle their kids. I also warm up with students to tell them who I am and why am I here. I also use stickers to reward the students and let them know how can they get their stickers. For children I will use alot of games in learning a subject and also handson if for science. I will also introduce singing and dancing for the children.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I read up alot in bookstores whenever I can. I also use internet to keep me updated on what is the trend in today's school. I also use new materials to help students. Like learning can be very interesting instead of just writing and reading. There are many ways to learn through using different games.
As a Good Tutor
To be a good tutor, one have to consistently improve oneself through coaching and reading. I also think that as a good tutor I have to keep brainstorming for new ideas to keep the class interesting. Besides games, coaching ways are also important especially when getting the students to behave well in class and do their homeworks. One also have to keep abreast of what's going on in the family in order to help the students and the parents. I have learned coaching and parenting skills before which helped alot in my tutor life.
