I will try and understand the child's area of difficulty in the lesson, and do my level best to help the child understand the concept, and at the same time make sure the child enjoys learning and does not feel it as a burden to learn the lesson.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Update myself with the latest edition of text books and also the workbooks available in the market. Check with the parents on the feedback from school regarding the topics to be covered for the respective term.
As a Good Tutor
Make sure the child has understood the concept well. Help thr the child to clarify the doubts by revising the lessons.
