Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start immediately and will be able to commit throughout.
Rapport Building
Firstly, I ensure that they believe and build trust in me. Having come from the usual A levels > local University route, it is easy to build a connection with both the parents and the students. Most parents are not only looking for a simple tutor for their children, but also a role model whom the students are able to look up to. I take pride in working my best and showing the students that they can do well in life as well. I try to take the time to speak with the parents before or after the lessons so as to build further rapport with them. I also provide feedback once a month.
Secondly, I try to form a professional but personal connection with the student. I try to understand his or her needs, weaknesses, strengths and personality. Then, I will be able to know how to encourage this individual better.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I tend to use my own students as an update.
As a Good Tutor
I believe that a good tutor is one that has the students' best interests at heart. The tutor must show up on time, put the 2 hours to good use and ensure that the student feels comfortable with the duration. A good tutor must also provide appropriate encouragement for the student to keep pushing on.
