Rapport Building
Although I am a strict teacher, I tend to make sure that the child is learning instead of studying. I believe there is a huge difference between the two. In order to learn, the child must be comfortable and willing to absorb the knowledge given. In order to do so, I would make sure to have a good relationship with your child and be like a senior to her instead of a teacher. This is so that your child would not feel like he/she is having another class outside of school but instead, he/she is having fun learning and apply the knowledge.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I promise to be prepared for your child's tuition before the class, I would do so by getting to know what would be taught in school the next week and prepare myself for the lessons to be taught to your child. If I am unable to answer his/her questions, I would get back to him/her during the next lesson.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor must definitely have patience and also the ability to teach in a way that the child understands. The role of a private tutor is to cater to the child's needs and not simply teaching like any other teachers in school.
