Commitment / Other Details
I will be able to start teaching immediately and teach them for at least one academic year. I am willing to hold group tuition at my place if there are 3 or more students.
Rapport Building
I normally build rapport with students by understanding the difficulties they are facing and I like to encourage them through little gifts so that they have something to work towards every time they take a test/ exam. I try to find out their aspirations and I will tend to use it as a source of motivation for them to study hard rather than forcing them to study without a goal in mind.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I keep myself updated with the curriculum by constantly looking at the current textbooks and assessment books.
As a Good Tutor
I would think a good tutor will have to be patient and be able to communicate with the child effectively. You should be friendly at times but you must know when to be strict/ stern so that the student will still respect you while enjoying your lessons. Responsibility would be another quality that I feel is important as the tutor can be a determining factor in deciding the fate of a child's results in school.
