Commitment / Other Details
Based on my past experience, it was never easy nurturing and guiding the kids. They are very active and curious. However, it's always heartening to watch their progress.
Rapport Building
Usually, I would be exchanging feedback and opinions with parents to find out whether the student is making any improvement. This would be done through verbal conversation at student's home itself or through messages. I've always tried to maintain my bond with my students as well as their parents because it's nice to be able to be close with my students and make them feel comfortable under my teaching. It's heartwarming to see them being so lively and enthusiastic to start lessons.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would be arranging tuition slots based on mine and student's available time. Usually, I would ask the student of her/his schedule before proposing the time slot to the parents. After all, it's the student who is going to be taught by me.
As a Good Tutor
I think good tutors need to be patient and understanding because different student has different learning approach. It's not useful to teach something knowledgeable when tutor does not know what kind of learning technique that's best for the student. I think it's also important to maintain my role as a teacher and as a friend because you have to be firm but friendly to the student.
