Rapport Building
During the first session, I will find out from both the parents and students on the area in which the student is weaker at. I find out the learning pace of the student because I believe that with that in mind, I'm able to cater to the student's learning ability and find the suitable teaching methods. I'll constantly update the parents with regards to their child's progress to ensure that the parents too do their job in ensuring that their kid do their own revision outside school and tuition time. I take note and observe all the possible factors that affect the kids' studying time for example, electronic distractions and refrain from these factors to be around the student during their study time.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Checking the syllabus regularly and making sure that the syllabus I am teaching is relevant.
As a Good Tutor
The most important thing as a tutor is to be able to cater to the students' ability to learn. Tutor must be able to pick out the best method to teach the students according to their learning pace and adjust themselves accordingly. Definitely need a lot of patience to teach considering the amount of time spent with student is limited. Tutors must also have sense of responsibility to improve students' grade and not compromise their standards at any circumstance for example, restlessness. In all, tutor must be hardworking and never give up on his/her student and always ensure that effective lessons are given every session.
