Commitment / Other Details
I am available to start anytime. I have full commitment to my tuition assignments. Able to conduct class individually or in group. (at student's place or my place)
Rapport Building
1) Must understand the parent's needs in the tuition. (To assist homework, to overcome weak areas of the student, to teach topic in advance, to enhance knowledge outside school texts, to provide challenge questions etc) and set different teaching methodology to achieve their goals.
2) Understand the students strength and weakness. Motivate and encourage them to attempt questions instead of giving up easily.
3) "Reward" the students. Praise them and also share their achievement with the family.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have friends that are current school teachers. I read up MOE guidelines and updates regularly to have the first-hand informations.
As a Good Tutor
I believe a good tutor should always consider and do the following :-
1) Put yourself in the parent's shoes and understand their concerns on their child/children
2) Help the student to understand the purpose of the tuition.
3) Must build good rapport with the student get his/her co-operation to learn and not waste time in lesson time.
4) Must understand the student weakness and strength.
5) Lots of encouragement.
6) Set challenges and goals for the student to aim.
