Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start anytime as long as it coincides with my availability. Parents can request how long they want a session to be. I will guide the child with their own assessment books/materials.
Rapport Building
I am new at this but I have friends who have taught in schools before and are very experienced in tutoring hence I'll be able to learn and gain tips from them. It'd be lovely if parents can tell me their expectations so I would know what I have to do. I usually guide students through their existing study materials to see which areas they are weak at and I'll source for other useful materials to guide them in their learning.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
students would generally have the best idea of the curriculum because teachers are expected to keep them informed if there's any changes. For language subjects, it is something that has to be nurtured in a daily basis and it is not based on a structured format so constant practice is the way to keep up.
As a Good Tutor
I feel that respect is important, to both the parents and students. Patience is a virtue. Tutoring can be frustrating sometimes when you don't get the point across hence it's important to be patient. It is also good to be fun and easy-going.
