Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have taught mainly primary levels for about 2-3 years and started teaching secondary levels since last year.
I believe my student has took an interest in my teaching and asked me back to teach him again for another year. His results has improved as well.
I can be a great tutor because I can connect with children/teenagers well. I'm experienced and committed and take interest in their learning and my learning as well.
Lower secondary level - English Mathematics Science
Upper secondary level - A Maths E Maths Physics Physics/Bio Physics/Chem
Junior college level - Physics
Commitment / Other Details
I'm able to start asap and I can commit to a assignment for at least a year. Right now, I'm fully committed to my teaching as I have no other commitments. So the student can enquire me about his problems as and when he/she likes.
Rapport Building
I'm friendly and usually able to accomodate to any commitments the parents/students has. For example, re-scheduling the lesson so that he can attend his CCAs or if the family may go on a holiday. I'm usually open to teach outside of the lesson. For example, the student can whatsapp me their questions out side of class and I will try to answer them. I maintain a good rapport with parents by reminding them the day before that I would be coming for tuition, have casual chats before and after lesson, discuss about his difficulties and problems, recommending assessment books. But I believe that as long as the parent is at ease, means I have done my job and I strive for that for all my student's parents.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I read up the textbooks to review my knowledge. I tend to read up on education news to also note any change in the syllabus. I visit the bookstores to keep my self updated on the syllabus by browsing assessment books.
As a Good Tutor
I think the tutor must be patient and friendly so that the student can clarify his doubts to him in an approachable manner. The tutor can also share his wealth of experiences to the student as they have been through college and getting the degree. The tutor should also encourage the student to do his best and develop interest in the subject and that tutor must have expertise in the subject area he is teaching
