I am able to reflect on my past teaching techniques and learning behaviour as a student. I recalled the thought process I had as a student when attempting to solve similar problems and tried to guide students using similar thought process. I will also gauge student's level of understanding and thought process. I would guide students along by prompting them with more questions to set them thinking and deriving the solution on their own. This was because I wanted them to learn the thought process from approaching the question to deriving the solution.
I have also formulated teaching and learning techniques to encourage higher order thinking and independent learning in students to stretch their potentials, significantly improving the Mathematics grade of 2 students from C5 to A2.
