I can commit immediately and full-time, Monday - Friday from 11am - 9pm and Saturday - Sunday from 11am - 3pm.
Rapport Building
On the first lesson, I try to get to know the student first and at the same time, gauge his or her subject ability. This will give me a good idea of how to adapt my teaching for the student. I usually personally report to the student's parents on the child's progress, and make sure to reward them with little gifts for any improvement.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I regularly purchase and teach using the most updated assessment books for my students. From there, I can closely analyze the evolving syllabus and get acquainted with it. I also keep a personal stash and ever-growing stash of 5 year series books which share with students.
As a Good Tutor
Aside from being well-versed and able to explain the subject to the student in a way he/she understands, I also aim to be a patient tutor who encourages students not just to memorize a subject, but to build their morale and interest in it. Tutors also are indirectly personal coaches to the students as we are able to give them useful advice on studying and/or juggling school work and commitments.
