Tuition/Teaching Experience
I am currently an undergradute at Singapore Management University, in the School of Social Sciences. I've tutored my peers and juniors in various subjects, primarily in English. I was formerly a Taekwondo coach, so I have had practical teaching experience, and I'm good with kids and kids in groups.
I was a philosophy student in JC, so my command of the English language is solid. I am good at argumentative essays and I will be able to teach my students how to write convincing arguments in their essays to make their point.

Commitment / Other Details
I will be able to do this till the end of the final exams for the tutee, and I will be able to start immediately.

I am free from Mondays to Fridays, from 12 onwards till night, and on Saturday mornings. I'm also free on Sunday.
Rapport Building
I have been active in many different sports and ccas, including the arts, so I have wide variety of interests that should appeal to many different types of students/parents. Given my outgoing personality, I am usually able to find common ground with them and I am able to build rapport as we would have common interests.

Sharing my experiences with students and parents also make good conversation topics as I do not come from the conventional O level route, or the 6 year IP program route, which makes for a refreshing change in the otherwise similar educational backgrounds of most tutors.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I read widely and in depth in many different areas, as I believe that to appreciate English, one cannot merely stick to a single topic or subject he or she likes. I read widely so that I will be able to familarise myself with different topics to discuss with different students.

I feel that students who learn English for the sake of passing exams will ultimately not do well, as they do not like the language in the first place, It is easier for them to learn English through a topic which they like, e.g Soccer, and then branch out from there.
As a Good Tutor
I was also a Peer Support Leader in my school, and the head in my year. I organized events totaling a hundred students and more, and thus I am well accustomed to dealing with stress. Not being able to deal with a tutee's questions is in my opinion, not a bad thing because no teacher should be expected to know everything .What is important is that the tutor handle the question in an efficient and responsible manner, by checking out various sources and giving a well thought out and researched answer, even if it has to be given the next day or the next lesson, rather than giving an answer that may not be correct just to "save face" in front of the student.

I believe I have what it takes to be a tutor, because I have many different skillsets that allow me to adapt efficiently to each student, as well as my strong work ethic, as I will feel responsible for all my student's results as well as wellbeing.
