I have taught part time tuitions for nearly 2 years. I have taught 3 students, primary 5 and 6 in maths and science. All 3 of them have improved, as much as from 50+ marks to 80+ marks, hence achieving band 1. Even though i am a male, i am very patient and i put in a lot of effort because i believe in professionalism.
I am able to commit until end of 2015 and maybe even longer. I will be entering NUS this year August but it will not stop me from teaching tuition. However, i will be going overseas from april 15-23 and late june(4-5 days) but i can make it up by having the tuition on another day that i am in SIngapore.
Rapport Building
I am considered a very approachable person because I like to communicate. I understand the difficulties that some students have because I was in their shoes before. I have also taken up private tuition classes when i was young so I know the perks and downsides of some tutors. Hence I will do my best to reduce all the negatives that some tutors might have.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
First, I know that some school teachers teaches students of different curriculum at different times. Firstly, I would ask the students on the topics that are being taught first and i will go through thoroughly with them. I will also read up and gather many questions of the same type to expose the students with different questions but of the same type so that they will understand the concept behind the questions.
As a Good Tutor
I believe a good tutor must have Knowledge, Patience and the ability to communicate well with the students.
