Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have taught home tuition for 2 years. I got most of my students from friends and family. I taught primary school students, mainly the mathematics subject. My students have improved in their mathematics tremendously and have gotten great marks.

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor in Psychology and having learnt psychology, I have grown to be very patient, especially with children. I am also able to understand the child's needs easier and am able to cater to those needs.

I will put in my full effort in ensuring the child does well in his or her education and subjects. I will help the child to the best of my capability to realise his or her own potential and want to excel in their subjects.

Commitment / Other Details
I have completed my degree in Psychology. I am currently applying for jobs. Until I start working, I am free everyday and am flexible with my timing.
Rapport Building
Building a good relationship is very important to me. I am a very positive and happy person. I also like to use a lot of motivation when it comes to encouraging myself. I will use this technique with my students as well. I will motivate him or her whenever I can to show them that they are capable of doing better and that they are individuals with lots of potential.

When it comes to building rapport with the students, I like to treat them like a friend. This is to allow them to feel comfortable with me. I will crack jokes here and there to help lighten the mood if students get very stressed and overwhelmed. However, I also make sure to be serious and get work done. If students get a little rowdy and out of hand, I will also make sure to be firm if necessary. But I will also motivate them at the same time as I understand that when a child finds a subject difficult, it is easy to become demotivated and to lose interest in the subject.

As for the parents, I will give them regular updates on their child's progress.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
My parents are both teachers. Therefore, sometimes I help them mark their worksheets. I will also ask my parents regarding the curriculum to keep myself updated on any changes in the curriculum. I have numerous resources at hand for reference as well.
As a Good Tutor
I think a good tutor is patient, understanding and is able to cater to each individual's learning style and needs. Once the tutor understands the child's needs, it is easy to help build rapport with the child. When the child respects the tutor and is comfortable with the tutor, it will be easier to carry out effective tuition sessions.
