Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have been teaching tuition for almost 5 years, seeing through primary students in different levels, across different subjects. I put emphasis on interest in the subject level, such that the students are able to enjoy while learning at the same time. I also would want to build a rapport with the parents together with the students, in trying to create a more holistic learning environment for the children. As an NIE Trainee, I have also been exposed to handling young children so it would not be that much of a problem to me. I hope to be able to help my students focus and learn better, so as to make marked improvements in their grades.

Commitment / Other Details
I can start immediately, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Weekends. I will be having exams in April but I will try not to change the lessons too much, so as to allow my students to be able to stick to a fixed schedule.
Rapport Building
I normally would always ask about how my students are doing in school, and if they face a particular difficulty in the subjects. I would normally start by clearing doubts before moving onto the actual teaching.
For parents, I would focus on giving them periodical updates, as well as enquiring any questions I may have of my students, to ensure that I can provide the most comprehensive tutoring experience to the students.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As an NIE Trainee, I would have access to the current textbooks available in the schools, and I can also refer to it frequently. Also, I have friends currently working in schools and thus I would be able to retrieve any information regarding curriculum from them.
As a Good Tutor
I think it is important for a tutor to be sensitive to the needs of his/her individual students. There is no one-size-fits-all formula in teaching and one has to be flexible and adaptive in their teaching. We also have to look out for our student's emotional well being, so as to be sure that they can learn better.
