Started out as a part-time tutor for a few years before becoming a full-time tutor for 2-3 years before stopping to stay at home to look after my kids. Now am looking to return to tutoring part-time. Have taught mainly E and A Maths, some science (chemistry and Physics) subjects. Mainly Secondary levels. Had a couple of diploma students.
Able to start now. Available preferably Wednesdays and Fridays 2 to 4.30pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 1.30 to 3.45pm.
Rapport Building
I am a very patient teacher. I normally do not raise my voice and will guide them through their work, finding a method that will work for that particular student. Can be anything from using tools to playing games. Will speak to the parents regularly about their child's progress.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Look at current textbooks and past-year papers as well as looking at MOE website for any updates in curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
Patient, able to find a way of communicating with the student, able to teach in a manner that the student is able to understand. Have to accept that everyone is different and definitely learn in a different manner.
