I find teaching as something that's both beneficial for me and the students. When i was in JC, I started to do peer tutoring and helping my peers as I believe my knowledge would strengthen as I go through the concepts with them. Following after that, I realised that teaching might be a passion for me as I feel glad when my students do well. I have started to give home 1-to-1 tuition.
I believe that I can help students that are younger to understand the importance of studying and building foundation. In my opinion, drilling questions may not be the most efficient way to study. It may help you for a specific test/exam but it will not do you good in long run. Understanding the concept and mechanism behind each question, will allow you to apply appropriately whenever the question changes.
I can help to give time management guides too as I was in Canoeing from Secondary school to Junior College. Training takes up to 6days/week and my results get better when i was in Canoeing. I understood that if I don't produce good results, my parents will not allow me to continue my Canoeing commitments. I started to come up with good methods for time management which includes only studying during optimum time, planning timings carefully and understanding effective study methods.
