Prior experience in tutoring back in 2013. For Maths, my belief is "practice makes perfect". It's not that hard once you started doing and applying formulas. For Physics wise, understanding the core concepts is the key. Likewise practising and applying correct formulas are equally important in scoring well for the subject. I am patient in teaching my students and I don't see the need in scolding unless there's really a need for it, with in that case I will refer the problem to the parents.
