I have more than 10 years of tutoring experience. I have tutored Primary School students who have emerged top in PSLE.
I am good at motivating students and bringing the best out of them by focusing on their strengths and working on their areas of improvements. Students have said that I am patient and kind towards them.
I use strategies in English and Mathematics to help students to grasp concepts. Thereafter, I teach students by using examples, guided questions and assign individual tasks for them. Common mistakes and the correct way to solve questions are shared with students.
My aim is to allow the child to learn in a fun, safe and happy environment and striving to be the best they can be.
In the first session, I would try to understand the expectations and needs of the parents and student and align accordingly by communicating with them.
I get feedback from the parents after each session. I gain the trust of my student by being patient, kind and firm. During the session, I am patient and show that I am open through verbal and non-verbal cues for students to ask me questions.
I motivate students who have lost hope in their studies by letting them experience small successes.
I set clear goals and expectations with my students during the first session and look through their work to have a better understanding of their needs.
By being consistent, students and parents know what to expect and are assured of a trustworthy tutor.
