Rapport Building
As mentioned, I am a MCYC member, hence I do have experiences teaching the special needs children. I think the most important thing to build rapport with students will be mutual respect. Encourage them when they do badly and not look them on them. Praise them when they deserve to get recognized. I will be glad to be their tutor, as well as their friend. This will require much time and patience, but I'm confident that I am able to achieve it.

On the other hand, to build up strong rapport with parents, I would need to build up their trust on me. Hence, I am willing to speak to their family members regarding them child's progress if needed.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will first read through their textbooks, and keep myself update with the contents.
Next, I would also look through the MOE syllabus, ensure that what I am teaching will be relevant.
Lastly, I will use the search engines if there is anything I am still not certain of.
As a Good Tutor
To be a good tutor, I think one needs to have a lot of patience. Some students may be especially weak in certain areas while some may have special needs such as low learning ability . Hence, we need to recognize this and try our best to help them.

One will also need to have a lot of passion for teaching. We have to come up with different teaching methods to cater to different needs of the students. Only with the strong desire to help the students improve, we will then be willing to put in the best effort in our tutorings.

Lastly, a good tutor must have the responsibility. One has to be responsible to their students, mark their work on time, be punctual for lessons, and inform the students few days beforehand if he/she is unable to make it for the tuition.
