I have tutored students in IP Year 4 Geography as well as H1 General Paper, H1 & H2 Mathematics and H2 Economics for over a year. A selection of results are as follows:
H1 General Paper: Student improved from D to B.
H2 Economics: One student improved from U to B, another improved from E to C.
H1 Mathematics: Student improved from U to C.
In order to be accountable for my students' learning and development, I tutor only subjects which I am familiar, comfortable and experienced with. These subjects tend to be the Humanities as well as Mathematics. I have a perfect University Admission Score of 90, was on the Dean's List twice for General Paper and was part of the Humanities Program in JC.

Commitment / Other Details
Throughout my six years of education in Raffles Institution, I have created and compiled many notes on the different subjects which I have offered - notes which I will try my best to incorporate into lessons with the student. In addition, I am familiar with various questioning, answering and essay writing techniques such as WRAITEC, PEEL, TEE as well as various rhetorical devices which I will impart to the student.
In my lessons, I hope to first clarify any misconceptions which he or she may have before moving on to developing his or her understanding and interest in the subject. This will be carried out by going through the student's past work and examination scripts in order for me to assess his or her weaknesses and conceptual errors. The student and I will then work towards rectifying these mistakes through meticulous explanation of the topics tested, analysis of examples followed by some written work to reinforce his or her understanding. I am also willing to offer ad hoc advice on other subjects or work such as personal statements and admissions essays should the student require it. I am relatable, understanding and committed to improving the student's results while ensuring he/she enjoys our lessons.
I am able to start immediately and will commit to the student's next major national examination (e.g. Y4 IP Examination, 'O' Levels, 'A' Levels etc.) If I am unable to do so, I will commit at the very least to the end of the academic year or at such a time when the student finds a more suitable tutor.
Rapport Building
I am a spontaneous and sociable individual which allows me to interact at ease with my students and their parents. Furthermore, being a young adult has enabled me to build rapport with my students as the age gap between us is small. In addition, I value the importance of communication, thus I talk to my students to empathize with them and their needs, as well as their parents to understand their concerns and expectations before trying to reconcile both perspectives in order to help the student improve.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Having completed my 'A' Levels in 2013, I am still relatively familiar with the current curriculum and the academic rigor and standards expect at both the secondary and JC level. I still possess the notes and practices I utilized while studying for my 'A' Levels, but I keep myself updated with the curriculum by obtaining current notes and practice papers from my juniors who will have had a firsthand experience of the current curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
Being a former student of Raffles Institution (RI) has afforded me with the unique opportunity of being taught by some of the best teachers in Singapore. It is due to their excellent lessons that I have been able to have a good grasp of the subjects which I took. Throughout my six years of education in RI, I have created and compiled many notes on the different subjects which I have offered - notes which I will try my best to incorporate into lessons with my students. As a testament to my academic qualifications, I have a perfect University Admission Score of 90, been on the Dean's List twice for General Paper and been part of the Humanities Program in JC.

I believe that good tutors should possess a passion for the subjects they teach, as well as a dedication towards furthering their students' potential for learning and development. They should aim to inculcate a curiosity for knowledge within their students and hence aid in shaping them to become critical thinkers. Thus, I try to embody these qualities with every student I teach.
