I have 2 years of teaching experience in primary school Math. I will usually help my student to clear the concept before moving on to sch work. Subsequently, we will do some assessment work.
My students have generally improved their grades from 60-75.
I love to teach and will usually use concrete materials if i can to teach. Subsequently, I will teach the abstraction of math, ie how to solve using mathematical equation.
I am able to start immediately. I can commit for at least 1 year. My rate is around $20/hr
Rapport Building
I will usually get to know more about the student, either from student or parents.
As and when, I will try to incorporate some games/competitions to entice the student to learn.
I would update with my parents if I feel that my student is weak in certain area, and would encourage parent's support in ensuring that my student can be pushed to work better.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will read up on the textbook and assessment books in popular, to ensure that I know what the child has to learn in his syllabus.
As a Good Tutor
As a good tutor, passion in teaching is very important. Subsequently is the patience and encouragement that the tutor must give to the child. Praise him for his effort, and I believe the child will be motivated to work hard.
