Tuition/Teaching Experience
It has always been my passion and interest working with children. There is utmost satisfaction when they end the day with big cheerful smiles on their faces, excited by something new they have learnt.

Although I do not have any formal tutoring experience,I have been actively involved in organising activities for children aged 6 to 9 years old since my undergraduate days. A large part of my involvement saw me working with voluntary organisations to organize programmes such as outdoor sports camps, lifeskills workshops (personal grooming & etiquette), leadership and motivational workshops as well as creative story-telling activities. With this passion for teaching and working with children, I believe I can be a good tutor.

Rapport Building
Helping students to develop interest is of paramount importance. It would also enable me to understand the strengths and weaknesses a student has in the subject. Enabling the student to understand where and how they must improve would also help to engage the student better as this would motivate and inspire them to want to meet the challenges demanded of the subject and do better in it.

Informing and updating parents on the progress made by their children is the next step so they can have realistic expectations of how their children would perform and give the necessary support and help required.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As my brothers and cousins are still current JC and Secondary school students, helping them with the subjects they are weak in especially the humanities and languages allows me to keep abreast of what are the expectations and current grading system implemented in schools and for national examinations.

Being an arts students myself, my familiarity with learning models and studying tips for the languages and humanities pus me in a good stead. I am also able to provide clear guidance on essay structuring, sharp and concise writing required to ace the Level of Response Marking System used in the MOE curriculum today.
As a Good Tutor
We have to be responsible and accountable for the progress of the student, while managing parental expectations.

In addition to inculcating in students the neccesary skillsets required to improve their performance, helping them to manage the stress which comes with meeting these challenges is part of our duty as a good tutor too.
