I have tutored secondary school mathematics as well as english. I love tutoring primary school children as these young minds are curious and are at the fragile age where they can be inspired to learn. At the primary school level I have tutored english at all levels.
I am working as a full- time physiotherapist and would be able to tutor part time. I am able to start the sooner the better and will be able to commit at least for the next 2 years.
Rapport Building
Speaking to my students and trying to find out where they themselves feel they have problems and what their schools are teaching them and structuring the class to target these problems and build confidence. This way they feel that the classes actually help them.
With parents it is to give feedback and letting them know how their children are progressing and easing their worries.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Looking up the curriculum on moe websites, my father is a teacher himself and talking to him to understand the changes in the system, textbooks and assessment books
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor has to be entertaining, has to be current and has to be understanding. Without any of which a tutor would not be able to understand his students, build rapport or keep the students interested in the subject. Children come to tuition right after school and are tired and tuition is not about bombarding the child with more information but to solidify concepts learnt in school and find new ways of helping children grasp various concepts.
