Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start teaching from the beginning of May 2014 onwards.
Committment to a tuition assignment starts from half a year and beyond, depending on whether my employment is renewed by the student.
Rapport Building
To me, teaching is not only about engaging with the child academically, but also about meeting a new friend. Thus, i will strive to acheive a strong long-term friendship with my students, as only when rapport is built will the students be more interested in the teachings of the teachers and become more motivated to work hard. As such, my approaches are usually exploring common interests and giving sound advice from a mature and sensible perspective, with regards to life even beyond the academics.
For the parents, i will update them regarding the child's learning difficulties and also about the improvements and progress made.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will not only read the textbooks but also assessment books for each subject. From the plethora of questions, some are selected, according to the child's needs. Sometimes online resources such as summaries and exercises also come in handy.
