Tuition/Teaching Experience
I can be a great tutor because I believe I have most, if not all of the general traits that is required of a tutor. And more importantly, it is not just a job that earns me money, it's about helping someone else. It's about taking up the responsibility of someone else's education. It's about not betraying the trust that the student and his/her parents have put in me by hiring me.

In terms of experience, I have tutored one student on H2 Economics for half a year.

Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start immediately as I have just finished my NS liability and am waiting for my university admission to NUS.

I am willing to commit all the way as long as both parties stay mutually happy with each other and agreeable to all limitations with regards to time that I may face when I eventually start school.

I am open to teaching on any day of the week as long as my schedule permits me to.
Rapport Building
I am a very easy-going and open person who gets along very easily with people. I am approachable so students can feel comfortable asking me questions if they have any doubts about the tuition subject; not only that, students can share with me freely and comfortably about other issues that may be affecting them in their life, should they be facing anything.

I will keep constantly in touch with the tutee's parents and will give them constant updates on their child's progress. If they are comfortable, I will also discuss with them the inherent characteristics and personality of their child and devise ways and means to better facilitate their learning and bring out the best in their child.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will look out for any changes in syllabus and focus points that may have happened from the time I have graduated till the present.

I will do this by scrutinizing the official textbook for the respective exam.
I will also take a look at other school papers to help me keep in touch with the formats and the kind of questions that the present students might/will face.
I will also constantly consult students of that age taking the same exam on how it is like, what they are learning, as well as the potential difficulties encountered by them.
As a Good Tutor
There are a few important traits for tutors:

First and foremost, let me begin with the most important quality: Passion. This is the quality in tutors that will keep them going and trying their best, finding all ways to help their students improve and do well, simply because they LOVE teaching.

Closely connected to this is Compassion. Being compassionate helps you to show kindness to your students. Before, it is only a professional job. But with this element, you have concern for your student and care about him/her wellbeing, which will further push you as a tutor to do your best for your tutee.

Humility and Patience. I may not be the kind of person with a really good background and graduating from top schools, but it is this very fact that makes me feel that I am up to it. Having graduated from normal schools has definitely helped me stay away from building up pride and arrogance but instead has allowed me to grow up in humility and patience, which I think are very important traits for tutors.

Responsibility and accountability. I may not have top grades, but they are still a decent set of results, and the subjects and level I will agree to teach will definitely be something I am comfortable and well-versed in. There must also be a sense of responsibility for your tutee such that you would go to greater lengths to help him/her out. The sense of accountability is also important as you would be taking it personally upon yourself to monitor and expedite your tutee's progress as you know that at the end of it you feel answerable to the student, his/her parents, as well as your own conscience.
