Tuition/Teaching Experience
I do not have much experience as a tutor yet but i do assist my classmates and friends in their studies, and am willing to followup on their progress to see results. Although i am not very experienced as a tutor, i am confident that i will be able to impart my knowledge to my students, at the same time find out the best way they can understand and personalize their own learning styles. I believe i will be able to carry out the duties of a responsible tutor because i teach to see them do well at the end of the day, and helping them to enjoy the process instead of adding even more stress atop of school work. This is because my teachers are wonderful and have inspired me to study smart and even enjoy school work! i want to do the same and impart the same attitudes to my students as well.
i would like to start with one on one tuition or at the most, two. I will be able to start anytime, and i intend to continue teaching even after i start school in polytechnic. It is fine with me to travel to my students' place for weekly lessons. i would like to only handle 3 students for the time being, and when my school starts in April, 2.
Rapport Building
i would build rapport with my students by being relevant to them, and also understanding them instead of forcing them to follow my ways of thinking. I would keep myself updated with what was taught by my students' teachers, mostly by asking my students because they know best. Also, to know well enough what is it that my student is weak in. As a student myself, i really love physical encouragements like sweets or pens. i think i would practice these on my students as well.
i would build rapport with their parents by being accountable and honest. Assure them about their child's progress and the hiccups i face.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As a Good Tutor
i feel that good tutors not only have to teach well but they have to be consistent as well. consistent in their teaching, and also to be on time for lessons. they have got to be prepared for lessons and have clear lesson objectives. Apart from that, good tutors should be passionate to teach, and ultimately their goal is to help the student achieve a better understanding and interest in the subject instead of focusing on the results itself.
