Commitment / Other Details
I can start immediately. Preferably between 1.5 hours to 2 full hours. This length may be increased free of charge depending on the student.

Preferably in the afternoon.
Rapport Building
Jokes, laughter. Building teaching material that the student can identify with. Have personally crafted worksheets (Science, English, Math) for students from primary 3 to primary 6.

As for parents i give them a peace of mind by enabling the students to contact me directly therefore giving lesser of a burden to the parents. All students are free to directly ask me questions in regards to their school work and other matters.

When it comes to the timing of tuition I usually allow the parents the convenience of day and time as I personally believe that tuition is for the convenience of the parents.

Lastly, and i think it goes without saying that this is a necessity, humility, patience and being considerate to both parents and student is a common practice by me.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have actively researched the curriculum and have been keeping up with the changes this last 3 years. I do this in a number of ways.

1) Yearly MOE curriculum publication

From this I merely glean the changes they have made so as to follow up on the needs of my students as well as my material.

2) Yearly Top 10 School Papers.

From this I can glean methods as well as insights which the top schools provide that i can than use to teach my students.

3) Start of year, reviewing the textbooks.

Thanks to my current intake, i have access to the textbooks of students ranging from primary 3 to secondary 2. This allows me to forecast what the school expects from the student.
As a Good Tutor
As I mentioned above, humility, patience and being considerate to both parents and student is a common practice by me.

I am only human, which means i only have 24 hours a day. My sessions are usually 2 hours in length which means I have to make the 2 hours count.

However I believe that pacing the student, knowing the student well to better gauge his or her ability is more important than simply pushing in the material.

As a private tutor I can happily say that this is the only platform where one to one teaching is tolerated and thus the benefits of catering fully to a single students needs can be satisfied.
