I have not given any private tuition before. However, I have been doing service in a centre in Bedok for the past 2 years in which I help the underprivileged primary school children with their homework. I am patient and passionate about learning so I hope I can influence others to develop the same passion. I believe in guiding people to solve the question rather than giving the answer straight.
Upper secondary level - A Maths Bio/Chem Chemistry
Commitment / Other Details
I am available from mid-December 2013 to December 2014. I would prefer to give tuition on weekends.
Rapport Building
As mentioned above, I did service in a centre in Bedok. At the centre, I normally will engage in small talks with the children, asking them how they are coping with their academics, are they busy with their co-curricular activity, etc.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Since I have just completed my A levels, the A level syllabus is still very fresh in my memory. I read my secondary school reference books.
As a Good Tutor
I think a good tutor should be patient. A good tutor should also be friendly and approachable so that the tutee will be comfortable around the tutor and will be willing to clear all the doubt he or she has. A good tutor should guide the tutee to solve questions rather than give the answer straight. A good tutor should align the way she teaches with the school curriculum.
