Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start after 6th Dec 2013 and able to provide as many classes as necessary to improve the students' results over the holidays.
Rapport Building
I build strong rapport with parents and students by talking to them before and after every class on their work progress. I will first talk to parents to understand how their child has been coping in their studies over the years and learn about their child's strengths and weaknesses before conducting my first class. I will then update the parent after each class on their child's progress. I will also build rapport with my students at the beginning by learning more about them in and out of school, such as their hobbies, so that they will feel comfortable with me and thus, will be more willing to listen to me in class. Next, I will learn about how their study habits are like and give advice to them.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will take a look at the past year examination papers and ensure that I keep updated with the latest examination system. I will also study their current textbooks to ensure that I share relevant knowledge for my students.
As a Good Tutor
I think that a good tutor should always be patient and caring towards their students. They should understand that each child is different, and has their individual ways of learning. Thus, a good tutor should take time to learn more about their student and try to adapt to the students' way of learning. Next, they should build good rapport with their students and make sure they are comfortable with the tutor. A good tutor should stay firm so that the student will not step over them and they will gain respect of the tutor.
