My interest and focus is in the English Language (creative writing and enrichment) and General Paper subjects. I used to write for the newspaper i.e. STREATS. I have tutored at a Tuition Agency for 3 years, educating Primary School and Secondary School students in 2005-2007. In 2007, I provided GP tuition to two A-Level students. Both students were not native speakers of the English language as they were Burmese but were able to pull up their grades from sub-par to B3. I currently work full-time but am awaiting confirmation from MOE to teach English (Secondary School) / GP (Junior College).
I am able to commit for at least 1 year. I am not a conventional type of tutor. While I will teach students the importance of basics and structure, I tend to lead them to an understanding by getting them to draw from their own experience.
Rapport Building
Students enjoy the way I teach. I tend to draw from personal experiences to engage the students. The trial creative writing class at the tuition centre where I taught Pri 4 students eventually became a permanent feature as students requested to continue the class up to Pri 6. The students that I taught GP to still keep in touch with me and have asked me for advice on University matters.
