Tuition/Teaching Experience
Volunteering tutor at Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre from April 2011 to August 2012, under a CIP that aims to support Primary students from low-income families.

Why I can be a great tutor: I strongly believe in forming a bond with my students. From that foundation, we can then improve a lot in communication, motivation and ultimately, results of students.

Commitment / Other Details
Willing to commit and be flexible with schedules as much as possible.

CCas are on Tuesdays and Fridays, 7 - 9 pm - therefore unavailable on such days.

Able to start immediately when assigned.
Rapport Building
I befriend my students rather quickly. I enquire them on their hobbies, lifestyles - especially studying styles and their perspective on the school environment. From there, I can choose to develop my teaching style, whether the student can handle fast-paced, intensive learning or rather be strong in foundation first.

I treat parents of my students with utmost respect and honesty. It is because I believe trust is the building block for relationships between adults. I would inform them of students' progress regularly and report any issues that I (or my students) face.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Rather than familiarising myself with the students' studying materials, I refer back to my relevant Secondary and Junior College resources, which I am comfortable with.

The students can benefit in being provided a larger range of questions and materials at their disposal.
