Rapport Building
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I love reading especially books with personal development and motivational themes as I enjoy the process of thinking. Via reading, I experience great personal growth as it broadens my mind and makes me become receptive to diversity in teaching and learning. In tutoring, I encourage my students to be creative, to be curious, to learn from the mistakes and to be an active learner. To keep abreast of the curriculum development, I constantly seek information from every possible channel such as newspaper, news channel, MOE's web portal and through exchanging ideas and communication with other educators.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor is one who spends time and effort to understand the educational needs and learning capabilities of each student. He or she must be passionate in encouraging and motivating students to learn, while he or she seeks continually to improve teaching methods. As teaching is a long journey, it is not surprising that another quality of a good tutor is patience. Maintaining an open communication with parents and building strong rapport with students is another attribute of a great tutor. It shows that you care for your students and it is a good beginning towards building a trusting relationship with your students.
