Tuition/Teaching Experience
I give private home tuition for lower Primary since 8-10 years ago for English, Chinese & Mathematics. I have also taught preschool English & Maths before my 2 students went back to Indonesia few years ago.
I have taught a China boy English and Maths few years back, for 1-2 years and he was able to score from a 30% FAIL to 60% PASS!
I used to be a preschool childcare teacher for a year, therefore i have experiences handling younger children too.
Currently i am teaching Chinese for a K2 Australian boy.
I am able to teach on weekdays afternoon (Mon-Fri) except Wednesday from 2-6pm.
I would be able to commit for long time assignments.
Rapport Building
Normally i would like parents to discus with me their child's behavior and what they require from me in order for me to guide their child. Most of all, they must also give me the trust and time to prove that i am able to teach their child well and to score distinction for the subjects.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would normally visit the bookstores like Popular to see the latest assessment books that i can refer to. I would also check with my other friends in the teaching industry (such as School Teachers) to find out about the latest curriculum taught in schools.
As a Good Tutor
Besides being a dedicated and responsible tutor, I always aim to build good rapport with my students and adopt a long-term attitude towards teaching them, preferably all the way until they sit for their PSLE.
Most importantly, my students must feel comfortable with my style of teaching and develop a strong interest in the subject in order to score good results.
