Tuition/Teaching Experience
I am confident in tutoring because I have always been working with youth/kids. I have worked as a teaching assistant before as well as an outdoor camp instructor with Camp High Achievers, hence I am comfortable working with teenagers/schoolchildren. Apart from this, I also assist in the conducting of leadership workshops for secondary school students as a facilitator. I can be a good tutor because I am able to build rapport with kids and I also have the patience to guide them through. I believe in helping students understand what they are learning and guiding them through the learning process instead of spoonfeeding them.

Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start giving tuition immediately and can commit to giving tuition even when university term starts in August, as long as the tuition sessions can fit my schedule. I am very flexible and willing to negotiate. I am able to give tuition in the West on weekdays from August onwards as I am staying in a hostel on NUS campus. During the weekends I can give tuition around Central/Kovan area (when I am not staying on campus).
Rapport Building
As a student from Victoria Junior College and (currently) an undergrad pursuing my degree in the National University of Singapore, I recognise the importance of studies and doing well academically. I did well for my A levels and am keeping on track with my University modules. I was also previously from the Integrated Programme (IP) in VJC, and can safely say that I have what it takes to teach as a tutor. I am able to connect with students, but when it comes to studies, I have a no-nonsense attitude and will strive to give the best for my students.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have a younger sister and cousins who are studying in Junior College, secondary and primary schools now. Helping them with their homework allows me to keep myself updated with the curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
I think the basic qualities of a good tutor include patience, understanding and a positive attitude. As a camp instructor/facilitator, I have been trained to patiently deal with students even if they do not respond positively. I feel that I have what it takes to be a good tutor because I am willing to go the extra mile to ensure that my students truly understand what is being presented to them. Working with students on a constant basis allows me to know how to approach students and get them to work alongside me to achieve the desired results. I also understand that a good tutor has to be responsible, be it punctuality for lessons, preparation for each tuition session, following up after every session, ensuring that there are results... etc. I assure that I will try my utmost best to deliver.
