Rapport Building
I usually have no problems talking to kids and parents as I already have first hand experience with dealing with concerned parents during my teaching stint in school. Wanting to become a full-fledged teacher myself in the future, i can totally empathize with parent's difficulties in managing their children's studies and also the difficulties children face nowadays in order to excel in their studies.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I do the ten years series myself. As I am a fresh graduate. I am confident that I am equipped with enough knowledge to handle both O and A level syllabus.
As a Good Tutor
To be a good tutor, patience is of utmost importance. I believe I am one of the rare people who doesn't mind repeat certain concepts many times as long as students get it. Most tutors get frustrated when students do not understand a certain concept but I don't think that's the way.
Good rapport with students is also important. Only when students are comfortable with the tutor, can the students be more willing to pay attention to the tutors.
Lastly, i believe that in order for students to benefit fully from private tuition, students should do their best to absorb whatever they can in school and treat tuition as a chance to clear all doubts. I am willing to share tips on exams handling and how to prepare oneself psychologically and physically for major exams.
