I have 2 years of tutoring experience. I enjoy teaching and am currently doing an international Cambridge teaching diploma (CIDTT). To me, the greatest reward a tutor can get is their results the tutees reap at the end of the day.
I am approachable and patient. I believe building rapport is important for trust to be established between the tutee and tutor as well as the parents. I will update the parents periodically on tutee's progress so that their parents can monitor their child's progress
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I am familiar with the current A and O level Physics and Maths syllabus. I have a collection of past year papers and up-to-date questions from top secondary school and junior colleges.
As a Good Tutor
I believe a good tutor should have the following traits:
1) Able to communicate concepts in a simple and coherent manner
2) Set high but realistic expectations for tutee
3) Are well prepared and organised with clear written out objectives
4) Masters of the subject matter and familar with current syllabus
5) Able to build rapport with both tutee and parents
6) Flexible, able to adapt a teaching style that suits tutee's learning ability and style
7) Patient, responsible, committed.
