In the last century alone, there are filled with some of the greatest introverts around the world that have contributed significantly to society. Of note, here are three very famous examples of introverts that have affected us in our daily lives:

Bill Gates – Although known to be rather outspoken and bold with his statements, Bill Gates, co-founder and chairman of Microsoft was described as an introvert by behavioural expert, Susan Cain. As she puts it, Bill Gates will never be a true extrovert like Bill Clinton no matter how much he polishes his social skills. And the same would apparently apply to Bill Clinton if he wishes to be an introvert. The reason why Bill Gates is so outspoken according to Cain is due to him being typically unfazed by opinions and generally being less shy.

Albert Einstein – One of the world’s greatest thinkers, Albert Einstein is no stranger to solitude and deep contemplation. In fact, he has attributed a majority of his thoughts and conclusions to his personality as one that thinks through things, allowing himself to draw surprising connections between seemingly unrelated theories and objects.

Mahatma Gandhi – Gandhi, the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in India was one of the wisest men around, and inspired civil rights and freedom across the world. He was famous for being quiet yet speaking words that resonated with people despite their short length. His famous quote remains “In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”

Why Is It That the Corporate World Values an Extroverted Salesperson?

The extroverted salesperson is highly valued by the corporate world because they appear to be more confident, loud and witty. Research has been conducted and found that extroverts are perceived to be more good looking, quick to think on their feet as well as trustworthy when it comes to workplaces in the corporate world. As such, bosses are always quick to hire an extroverted salesperson as opposed to one that is introverted.

Where Do Introverts Stand in Today’s Society?

The fact there in lies that introverts stand lowly in westernised societies such as America. However, with every year that passes and a large number of researches carried out, introverts are starting to get the attention they deserve. One argument stands that innovative companies are needed to keep the advancement needed to help a company stay afloat and that introverts are vital in making that happen. So to all those introverts that are worried about your future in the working world, fret not.
