    I'm mostly a very friendly and bubbly person who is able to communicate my ideas across efficiently. I'm able to connect easily with those younger than myself and be able to teach them more about the subject on a common plane. I think it is crucial that there is a good relationship between the student and tutor. This is to truly engage and motivate the student to see the subject past what it is, and for what it symbolizes. Every subject has a role to play in society and for students to see it as more than just a subject is the first step to pique their interest and to push them towards mastering the subject.

I build a good relationship with students by asking showing a genuine interest in them, and feedback to the parents the student's academic improvement, especially if the student has emotional or problems in school.

              I download a copy of the syllabus whenever it has changed from the SEAB website.
              Textbooks and assessment books are also bought when they are changed.
              Assessment papers are obtained from students whenever possible to keep up with the school system.

              I believe in open communication with both students and parents. Ultimately, my purpose is to help the child, so I will do whatever necessary to ensure that they and their parents are comfortable. Depending on the child's age, I will send updates to their parents and to the child as well so that they can monitor their progress.
              Keeping Up with Curriculum
              As someone who just graduated from IB, the curriculum is still freshly in my head. I also have a gauge of secondary curriculum as my siblings have just completed their O' levels and I assisted them in their studies. Additionally, I confer with school teachers and other tutors to ensure my understanding of the curriculum is updated. When the curriculum changes, as it recently did for the History O' level curriculum, I not only checked the MOE website to see if the learning objectives changed, I also purchased school textbooks to read up on the new topics.
              As a Good Tutor
              Good tutors are ones that help the child to enjoy learning, while still maintaining a balance between fun and diligence. I was lucky to have tutors that I was able to connect and build a rapport with, but we knew when to study and be serious. Hence, I aim to promote genuine interest in the subject I teach, but also push my students to do their best. I myself strive for excellence, and I endure to help my students reach their maximum potential.
