Rapport Building: I personally have had many tutors while studying and have come across my fair share of tutors whom have not really catered to my needs, but I also have had tutors who helped me so much. I know how important it is for their students to score well academically. Without those tutors who have helped me clear doubts in my studies and closed conceptual gaps in my knowledge, I would not have done as well as I had. I hope that I will too be able to help those who feel that they are not doing as well as they should, realise their full potential.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Having graduated from secondary school not too long ago, the curriculum is still fresh in my head and i have got about to refreshing myself by looking through materials before applying to be a tutor. I occasionally help my cousins out with homework. They are in lower secondary and primary school. Therefore i am aware of what the curriculum is like now.

As a Good Tutor: I am patient and will ensure that my students understand concepts fully. First, I will go through thoroughly concepts and key points of the topic before proceeding on to practice questions. Lastly, to test and consolidate their understanding, I will give them mini timed assignments which allows them also to prepare for their examinations. My teaching will be systematic and will stick closely to each schools' curriculum because not every school is teaching the same thing at the same time. I will also try to teach ahead of the school so that the students have an edge over their peers.

Commitment / Other Details: I'm currently working as a temp executive at NTU on weekdays from 8.30am-5.45pm. In early August, i'll be starting school in University which will most likely take up only 3 days per week, so basically i'm pretty free.

I'll be able to start immediately and able to commit to teaching your son/daughter for as long as possible. I provide 1-to-1 tuitions cause i personally believe that full attention should be dedicated to one child at a time.

I tend to reward my students with small little gifts as these work well as a form of motivation. Not only that, I'll try to understand the student from his/her point of view in order to have a better teacher and student relationship. This will definitely help in my teaching and the child's learning.

Commitment / Other Details: Apart from building good rapport with the student, I believe that scoring in examination is not a matter of learning short-cuts and memorization, but actually really understanding the subject matter. As a Physics graduate and Mathematics minor, I aim to ingrain the right understanding of the subject matter in my students.

In following the curriculum, I have also adopted my own sets of assessment books and guidebooks, from which I will photocopy and provide my students the challenging exercises to work on every lesson.

I will usually arrive 10 minutes early to chat up with the students and parents. During lesson, I devote the full 2 hours to discuss on the subject matter, giving a short break where necessary not counting into the lesson time. Outside lesson, I encourage the student to whatsapp me a photo of a problem whenever he/she encounter one, and I will provide my solution through whatsapp also.
