Tuition/Teaching Experience: During lessons, I would help them in their daily homework and also in their preparation for school or national examinations.
I will explain and highlight the formulas that are important in solving sums and provide worked examples for them to understand the concepts behind each topic. Advices would be provided from time to time for students so that they are able to solve questions easily instead of doing a long method and wasting time during examinations. If student is in doubt, I would repeat the explanation again so that they are able to process the information given to them as they might be confused easily each time a new concept is being introduced to them. I would also let my students try out on a few similar questions after going through a few worked examples with them .

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start immediately (as of 09/03/2016) and hope to capitalise on the March Holidays to help my student wrap up everything he/she has learned in the first term and prepare them for the the coming Mid-Year Exams.

I will be able to commit until the start of my university in 1 August after which, my timings might change and it would subject to flexibility of mine and the student's schedule.

I am free on weekdays from 3:30pm onwards and full days on weekends. Am able to conduct lessons at student's home!

Rapport Building: Having taught students from all 3 streams, I have met a myriad of different students and have acquired the skills needed to teach students with the different pedagogies of learning, such as, visual, audio and kinaesthetic learners. I maintain a friendly and caring persona with my students and have been able to leverage on my relatively young age to connect with the students. I am also firm but fair with my students and genuinely wish to see them succeed.

Being a school teacher, we often use the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child". This means that we work hand-in-hand with other subject teachers, form teachers, school management and even parents for the betterment of the child. I believe I can relate well to the parents of my students and provide accurate and concise feedback.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: As I have been teaching in schools as an intern teacher, the past 2 months and will continue after the March Holidays, I consider myself very familiar with the syllabus. I also have an up-to-date understanding of learning objectives and insight on exam questions typically set by schools as I myself handle marking for test scripts in my current school.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor should always believe in the student's abilities and help them realise it. To instil a realistic sense of confidence in the student and help them believe that a Distinction is attainable. One should also be able to ignite the spark of curiousity in the student and be able to pass on the learning as well as love of learning to the students.
