Rapport Building: On the first lesson, i usually will stay a little longer after the lesson, to understand the student's background by talking to them personally, and also with their parents. Also, I will let them know about my current commitment levels, so as to let both parties understand each other, and know what we need from one another to make this tutoring session effective and efficient.

Tutoring goes both ways: I am also learning from the student while I am tutoring. And every student is unique in their own ways. So learning about their learning habits, and adapting to their learning styles by modifying our approaches as a tutor is always the challenge and the fun part to tutoring.

More importantly, I wish to impart knowledge and also let students have fun and enjoy what they are learning, instead of seeing these subjects as "necessity" rite of passage to go through in life.
