I build trust and communication with my students, and it is always heartwarming to know that they build their confidence and interest in the subject over time. I have very good communication with their parents and they also text me regularly when I was still in the teaching service, to know about the students' progress. Till date, I still keep in contact with some parents of the students who I no longer teach.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I am constantly in touch with the curriculum and the examination requirements due to my involvement in school. I also have a pool of resources from different sources of teachers I have contacts with.
As a Good Tutor
I strongly believe in the different abilities of the students and that different methods will work with different students. I have been able to strike a strong interest in the subject within students who have difficulty. They all grow to like the language and are more receptive to learning. Which is the most important first step. Apart from dynamic learning in the language through visuals like video clips of news and current affairs that students can relate to, there will also be drilling of the language where they can learn how to apply what they learnt and memorise and practice into the actual writing and reading of the school texts and papers.

There are different sources I use, mainly online bitesized news and interesting texts and stories. there are also important relevant practice papers from schools that I have written and set.

The students from graduating batch have all benefited and show a big improvement in their O level exams. Scoring B3 and distinctions, from an original of failure cases.

Having gone through multiple tutors and years to tuition classes himself, he is fully aware of the difficulty and pressure involved in learning. He believes in the building of interest and basics.             Keeping Up with Curriculum
            Lessons are conducted with the school materials provided to the students to ensure that methodologies taught are the same as the school requires. Further practices will be taken from trusted publishers of assessment books that are recommended by schools. It is a personal belief that tuition classes are to enhance the depth of knowledge and strengthen the teachings of the school and exam board.

            Students have found Clement to be easily approached and fun to study with. Students have shown development of skills within 3months. Motivation can also be seen to have improved with many going beyond the work assigned and others texting regularly outside of class to ask questions and raise points to work on. the wok attitudes of students have grown under the tutelage of Clement.

              I would like to talk with both the parents and the student themselves to ask and find out more about their specific needs and problems with regards to the particular subject and also learn from them what they hope to achieve from the tutoring sessions. I would also like to ensure constant communication with the student and parents to ensure we are all moving on the right track at the right pace and that their needs are being fulfilled correctly by me as a tutor.

              Aside from keeping up with the current textbooks and workbooks, I also look at assessment books to keep myself in touch with what is expected of the syllabus.
              As a Good Tutor
              I think that the basic qualities of a good tutor is that she/he is able to communicate comfortably with the student so that the student does not feel uncomfortable or nervous to ask any questions and clarify doubts. Tutors should also be able to see if the student is able to keep up with their teaching style and try to ensure that their teaching style adapts to meet the learning style of the students as well.
