    Being a relatively young tutor, I am able to empathize with my students. Being a student in Singapore IS NOT EASY. That is why I am always patient with my students. My teaching style is firm, but I do try to make my lessons interesting to evoke my student's curiosity to learn.

    I believe that for a student to excel in his studies, the tutor and the parents have to work together. After each class, the parents will be updated on the student's progress and what she can improve on.

    My first goal as a Physics tutor is to help my students to understand the academic concepts, because a student's grade is a reflection of how well he understands the subject.           As a Good Tutor
          My teaching philosophy is to develop a strong rapport with my students. It is only when they are comfortable around me that they are more willing to ask questions and clarify their doubts. As a digital native, I also believe in leveraging on technology to provide my students with a 24/7 helpline to answer their burning questions before an important test or examination.

          As a tutor, I believe it is my responsibility to ensure my students' growth. Hence, I try to make my lessons as engaging and fun for the students, so that they understand that is it possible for learning and fun to co-exist.

            When tutoring, a tendency to be more informal could be adopted, and I always adopt a diplomatic attitude towards discussing matters with my students and their parents. I place an emphasis to be less cordial and formal, albeit still treating them with respect.
            Keeping Up with Curriculum
            Consulting the notes of my students, cross-referencing them with other notes allows me to understand what lies within the boundaries of the syllabus and what is additional information. Constantly studying the examination papers of late and reading the syllabus documents also help me to keep in touch with the patterns or shifts in paradigm of question-setting. This always allows me to prepare my student better to answer these kinds of questions by allowing them more practice and confidence in these question types. For my subject specialties in physics, chemistry and math, it is understood that application-type questions are popular of late, so I always plan to explain how to get around them and understand them, from a logical perspective as opposed to rote memorisation of formulae which might not necessarily apply to these questions which requires students to be adaptive.
            As a Good Tutor
            To get students to be less afraid of questioning what they learnt, not telling them what to think but rather, how to organise their thoughts, is a means of offering them advice to improve, allowing them to gain more confidence in their ability. I strongly believe in customising my teaching style and questions to offer better focus on patching their weaker topics and means of learning. This engages students better and the active learning makes it more encouraging for them to absorb knowledge and eventually improve.

                    I will only be able to start lessons from April 2019 onwards. I am able to commit for at least 3 months.

                    I believe in an interactive style of learning and teaching. Through communication, I can then know the student's weakness and misconceptions, and from there, find the most suitable way to strengthen the the concepts that the student is required to know.

                    I believe that parents also play a critical role in the academics of the students. Hence, I like to provide feedback after each lesson to the parents on the student's progress, and for major exams, highlight the strengths of the student as well as the area for improvement.
                    Keeping Up with Curriculum
                    The syllabus that I took for my exams is not far from the current syllabus. Hence, I study the syllabus documents from SEAB to ensure that all pointers from the examination is covered and hence the student will be well prepared for the exams.
                    As a Good Tutor
                    A good tutor needs to the knowledgeable about the content he/she is teaching, so that he can quickly identify the areas for improvement.

                    I also have flexible timing, and will suit to the student's schedule.
