          I regularly update my practices and notes based on the previous year's prelim papers and school notes from my tutees. Every year I also read through the updated syllabus provided by MOE and update my materials accordingly.
          As a Good Tutor
          Able to pitch the lesson at the correct level of difficulty. The student must not feel intimidated by having too many tough questions coming at one go, so I avoid this by building up the difficulty level: first by giving easy, basic concept-testing questions then slowly progress to the harder prelim questions which combine topics.

          I will also pay attention to which specific aspects the student has trouble in when doing worksheets during class, this is so that I am able to better customise practices to fit his strengths and weaknesses.

Thereafter I would try to teach him/her in terms of his/her respective learning preferences to help them learn concepts more effectively.             I am freshly graduated from JC, hence I am highly familiar with the latest syllabus, and the exam strategies that got me my straight As are still fresh in my mind. I hope that this can be a leverage for me in gaining my students and potential students' confidence in my teaching.

            A good tutor is someone who can build the student's confidence. Beyond just teaching the subject and clarifying concepts, I think a tutor should be very reassuring, especially when the student is struggling to keep up with his/her studies. After all, it is the student's keenness to learn and improve that matters most in achieving real results.
