      - I make it a point to come at least 10 minutes earlier to talk to the student. I always love to ask my students how was their day or week. Like every human being, we go through different things on a daily basis, and this can affect our mood when it comes to learning. Talking about events that have happened over the week allows a person to open up to me and become more comfortable. Additionally, it provides my students with an opportunity to regulate their emotions which will ultimately enable them to better focus and learn during classes. I strongly believe in being an encouraging teacher; to help students see the potential in themselves, to acknowledge their areas of improvement and to work on them.

      - I will provide parents with timely updates on their child's progress and encourage parents to participate in children's learning. I am able to provide tips that will assist parents in engaging in learning with their children. I am open to feedback and value honesty in communication. I am able to receive constructive criticism and will always strive to improve myself through parent's feedback.

      "Adults don't learn from people they don't like. Adults don't learn things they don't enjoy. All the more with students!" This phrase depicts my view of student learners, and my role as an educator.

      With a great love for children, I developed a passion in education and interaction with children. I pursued my Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and have developed a range of skills, knowledge, and competencies in both education and leadership.

      Being around children has taught me two fundamental beliefs:
      Firstly, relationships play a significant role in children's learning. I believe that the development of positive relationships intertwines with how children learn. Children learn from those who they enjoy company with, who give them a sense of reassurance that they are valued, competent, and unique individuals with potential.
      Secondly, learning occurs when children are interested. When children are interested, they active participate in learning and construct their own knowledge. Valuing children's view on education and learning is the first step in creating an environment where children find a joy in learning.

      As an educator, I aim to build positive relationships with my students by being warm and encouraging to them. I am determined to spark their interest in learning through my positive and bubbly character.

      The manner in which educators perceive their students will influence how they teach.
      As a teacher I strongly believe that students play an active role in learning. Learning occurs when the student actively participates through discussions.
      It is more important for the student understand the concept of what they are learning than to regurgitate what they have "learned". This will provide the foundation for more complex concepts to be built upon.
